My room’s water tap has water leak.
I think it has been starting for 1 months ago.
Whenever we can feel tone of water drop as flavor like Japanese, but actually it’s not good vibes because of my rooms’ getting damage anyway.

I don’t want to choose easy way like buy new water outlet and replace to old one.
Because my water outlet is a bit expensive but suck brand TEKA, which is I think valueless brand and break down easily, and I will never buy again.
I finally made up my mind to fix it up after it.

what kind of tools I should prepare

I prefer above tools, especially No.4 “lug wrench (box wrench T type)” you should have. It supports to concentrate your force on loosening a bolt.
Another wrenches are not enough to apply force efficiently, especially my case.

I don’t recommend above adjustable wrench, because it’s not enough to apply force.
If your tap-water-valve is so tight, you must feel tired to use keeping this kind of tool.

Ok, getting back to main tools.

No1. “cutter knife”, when you open the handle cover, need this kind of sharp edge to open it.
No2. “flare-nut wrench”, if the valve is not so tight, this kind of wrench is available.
No3. “box wrench (L type)”, one of useful tools, when you open a tight bold.
No5. “Allen wrench”, when you detach the handle from the valve, you must need. A cheap one is enough.

first barrier

It’s easy to say that physical fault parts should be replaced.
However it’s hard to find where is the faults.

In my case, I have no doubt it’s tap water valve fault.
Maybe some sealing doesn’t work or waterproofing packing is broken.

At first I started to tear down the water outlet.
Second, tried to set the valve apart from the main body, but failed.

It’s very hard and tough valve to detach from the main body.
Surely I can apply force full blast, in my case it’s far from best way, because it’s high possibility to break down the base.
My water outlet is attached to natural stone, which is very weak and easy to crack.

To sum up, I don’t let me do it cheap way, and select and buy tools.
When I went to have a look at tool for a valve, I found 3 types of proper tools.

I will recommed to get them as long as you like fix it up for yourself.
It’s much cheaper than buy new water outlet.

second barrier

What makes my head go around is various kinds of valve cartridges.
It’s very difficult to find proper size of alternative one.
If you want to fix your valve for yourself, you have to measure the dimensions as accurately as possible.
If you don’t have a slide caliper, please get it.
No need to get expensive one, just you should get simple one.
I recommend to find and buy it on Lazada, which is very substantial about electric gadget.

check Tap Cartridges

There’s sevral check point about Tap Cartridges.

• Total Length (including bottom seal): 44.7mm
• Diameter at Widest Point: 23.8mm
• Top Spline Diameter: 7.65mm
• Top Spline Teeth / Notches: 20
• Barrel Diameter: 18.3mm
• Lower Thread: 22.5mm
• Bottom Seal Colour: Blue (for Cold Side)
• Close Direction: Clockwise Close (Anti-Clockwise Open)

You can find the valve (Tap Cartridges) on AliExpress, Lazada, amazon.com and so on, but have to check sevral points.
At first, the size of it is very important.
“Close Direction” is also important, common one is “Anti-Clockwise Open”, but some of water outlet need “Clockwise Open” type.
Above picture will be of some help.

You have to make sure of the size precisely, and look for a seller.
Maybe you found, many items you’re looking at is not matching or poorly informed, and then you hesitated to buy alternative one on Net.

final step

I also try to replace the whole valve, but I gave up. Because I couldn’t find proper dimension one.
At last, I try to fix it by sealing tape.
One Thai guy were doing the same way on the Net, and then I also use the similar way to fix it.
